What we check

A 140-character title

Etsy accepts up to 140 characters in a title. Podinfly recommends 60–110: search results only show the start of a title, so lead with your most important phrase.

Limited and banned characters

%, : and & can each appear only once in a title, and $ ^ ` aren't accepted at all. No more than 3 words can be written in all caps.

13 tags, 20 characters each

A listing takes up to 13 tags, each up to 20 characters. Tags can use letters, numbers, spaces, hyphens and apostrophes.

Repeated tags and words

Writing the same tag twice wastes a slot. Podinfly also flags a word used in more than 3 tags and tags that just repeat a phrase from your title.

How the title ends

A title ending on a single-word fragment like "Women" looks unfinished. Make the last part a real phrase, like "Gift for Mom".
