Which fees does Etsy charge?

Listing fee: $0.20

Charged when a listing is published and for each extra unit sold from a multi-quantity listing. A listing stays live for four months or until it sells.

Transaction fee: 6.5%

Taken from the item price plus the shipping and gift wrap the buyer pays. It doesn't apply to US sales tax.

Payment processing fee

Depends on your bank account's country: US 3% + $0.25, Türkiye 6.5% + 14 TRY, UK 4% + £0.20, Germany 4% + €0.30, Canada 3% + CA$0.25. Taken from the total including tax and shipping.

Offsite Ads: 15% or 12%

Only charged when the sale came from Etsy's ads on other sites. Under $10,000 in the last 12 months you pay 15% and can opt out; above that you pay 12%. Capped at $100 per order.

Currency conversion: 2.5%

If your listing currency differs from your payment account's currency (e.g. listing in USD, account in TRY), Etsy charges 2.5% to convert.

Regulatory operating fee

Charged to sellers in some countries. Of the countries in this calculator: Türkiye 1.67%, UK 0.48%, Canada 0.50%; none in the US or Germany.

How much do you keep from an Etsy sale?

Example: a $24.99 T-shirt with $5.99 shipping and a US payment account. Etsy fees come to about $3.39 (listing $0.20, transaction $2.01, payment processing $1.18). After $11.50 production, $4.95 shipping and $0.40 packaging, net profit is about $10.74, a 34.7% margin.

Why does the payment processing fee depend on the country?

Etsy Payments fees are set by the country of the bank account your sales are paid into. Outside the US the fixed fee is in local currency; enter today's exchange rate in the calculator to convert it to dollars.

Is the Offsite Ads fee charged on every sale?

No. It's only charged when the buyer came from an Etsy ad on another site. Sellers under $10,000 in sales in the last 12 months can opt out.

I sell from Türkiye. Which fees are different?

Payment processing is 6.5% + 14 TRY, the regulatory operating fee is 1.67%, and if your listing currency isn't TRY there's a 2.5% currency conversion fee. Some countries add VAT to Etsy fees; this calculator doesn't include VAT.

What are the break-even and target margin prices?

Break-even is the item price where your net profit is zero with everything else unchanged. The 30% margin price is the price where 30% of what the buyer pays stays with you.

Is the result exact?

It's an estimate based on Etsy's published rates. Your Etsy Ads budget, VAT on fees and any reserve aren't included; check your Etsy payment account for exact amounts.
